Baja Beach Café

When you think of San Diego, you think of sun, surf, sand, and fun. Baja Beach Café encompasses all four of these elements. This Pacific Beach restaurant has an upbeat party vibe where you can enjoy delicious food and drinks while overlooking the ocean on their outdoor patio alongside the boardwalk. Enjoy a morning, afternoon, or evening of people watching in this Hawaiian-style beach shack just steps from the sand. It’s tradition in San Diego that Sunday is dubbed FUNday and this is the perfect spot to experience it, munching on delicious Mexican and American-style food while sipping margaritas that you’ll need both hands to hold. Baja Beach Café is located on the corner of Ocean Boulevard and Thomas Avenue, just a block south of Grand Avenue; you can’t miss it once you hit the boardwalk.

Baja Beach Café Ambiance

Walking up to this little pink and green restaurant with straw-bale trimming, you’ll know you’ve found the right place to let your hair down for the day. It is typically crowded, so it’s perfect for those who love mingling with new people. The inside has a nice mix of low-top tables and high-top half booths with wicker chairs. Greens, blues, and reds compliment the hardwood floors, and plasma screen televisions surround almost every seating section. You can catch a game indoors and still feel the breeze through the open windows, or head out to the patio and watch the beach action. The nighttime ambiance is even more charming. Twinkly strings of lights stretch across the patio offering subdued lighting as the moon shimmers off the water. The cool vibe may get you in the door, but the food and drink specials keep you coming back for more at this local beach spot.

Baja Beach Café Food

Pacific Beach nightlife brings locals and tourists together to share a night of jaeger bombs, beers, and great conversation. The next day’s remedy for a night of indulgence is a delicious breakfast. Baja Beach Café has got you covered starting at eight in the morning, but don’t fret late risers, you have until noon to get your recovery on. A favorite for this category is the Morning after Burger. The juicy Kobe beef patty topped with an over-easy egg, hickory smoked bacon, sharp cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, and red onion on a brioche bun will surely do the trick. If you’re feeling a little more adventurous, try the spinach, apple and brie omelet, roasted prime rib skillet, or a south of the border treat like chilaquiles; they will be just what the doctor ordered.

The lunch and dinner menu is served from noon to close and offers a mix of delicious prime rib specialties, gourmet burgers and sandwiches, salads, and of course, Baja specialties, tacos, and burritos. If you’re looking just looking for a bite to eat with an adult beverage, try any one of the amazing appetizers like the Home-Style Dips; creamy melted cheese, guacamole, or black bean dip, served with fresh tortilla chips. Take a trip around Mexico’s top cities with their margarita menu featuring The Puerto Vallarta, The Mazatlán, The Mexico City, and The Cancun to name a few.
